2010-10-31 [Annie]: Oh my goodness I'm soooo excited! Tomorrow is the day...whee! Awesome idea [Ash]. ^_^ Oh oh, we should put our NaNoWriMo.org handles too...I want to add everyone. :P
2010-10-31 [Ash]: Okay, I'll add mine, just a second.
2010-11-01 [Ash]: Day one: I prepared an outline, and have twelve glorious chapters. I also figured out I have the brunt of the work to do in three days due to new classes starting Thursday. Huzzah! A challenge. Today I will attempt to tackle two classes with a bowl of fruit loops, some very loose and sometimes illegible outlines, and a ton of coffee! Here I go!
Post your 'Day one:'s here!
2010-11-01 [Annie]: Wow, very nice! I admire your outlining skills.
Day one: I came up with an idea for my novel at the last minute, and although I don't exactly have an *outline* per se, I have a good idea of how I'm going to go about things. I discovered that I can write quite a bit while in my boring morning classes, about 1000 words, which leaves me about 30 minutes of outside writing time every day. Today I tackled four classes on a bowl of Kix. :/ I'm going to put up my word count too. ^_^
2010-11-01 [Ash]: So will I! As soon as I switch computers. I have a different computer for internet than I do writing though both are capable.
2010-11-02 [Annie]: Wow, 5000 already, nice job!
2010-11-02 [Ash]: Day two: I've crashed landed on a planet, or it feels like it. My hands and elbow hurt from over exhaustion yesterday. They'll be going through less rigorous work today as I only want to get to 8,000 words total. By noon when I was done with my 4K, I was already emotionally drained, however, I found that starring at the Home and Garden channel between paragraphs helped keep me at my task and there for achieving yesterday's number.
2010-11-03 [Annie]: Day two: After studying (aka cramming) for seven hours for a test tomorrow, I was a bit too exhausted to make any real progress. I finished studying and only got about 500 words in...better luck tomorrow I guess.
2010-11-03 [Ash]: Day three; (morning) After not getting much yesterday due to spontaneous cleaning, I have much to make up for today. I only pushed out a few paragraphs which was lacking in what needed to be done. I only hope my evening report has good news to be share in it.
2010-11-03 [Annie]: Day three: I got a B on the test I crammed for, so I guess missing yesterday's nano was justified. I'm caught up with yesterday's writing and chugging along on today's writing. Maybe by the end of the day I'll be at the 5001-word, 3-day mark. :)
2010-11-03 [Veltzeh]: I'm not actually doing a nanowrimo, but an alternative: 30 characters in 30 days! (<URL:http:/
2010-11-04 [Ash]: TO VELTZEH: Please do! Looks interesting! I would join, but you can't join in after November 1. If you would, make a separate page and post up your character pics so we can see them please. Don't forget to put up your drawing log (like out Day Ones, ect...).
2010-11-04 [Ash]: Day three: (evening) It is my pleasure that I have gotten the knack back from Monday and posted up 4,000 more words. I thought for sure it was going to be a challenge, but sitting here next to my boyfriend and having side conversations has seemed to help immensely, possibly because I have to 're-jog' my brain when I get back to writing so the inspiration is new. I hope this continues. I would love to be doing 10k every three days, making a win on the 18th then editing and expanding if possible until the official count can take place on the 25.
2010-11-04 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Oh, look. A support group for my newest drug! I knew I would find one soon enough... Mmmmmm... new drugs.
Druuuugsssss..
I've taken to writing "approximately
2010-11-04 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Also, were we able to start writing on the 31st? I didn't think we could or I'd have another few thousand words <_< Please tell me it's not true.
Say it ain't so, Pa! Say it ain't so!
2010-11-04 [Ash]: No, you had to start no earlier than Nov 1st at 12:00 AM.
2010-11-04 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: PRAISE JESUS!!!!!
Er... Whoa, sorry. That's the black preacher inside of me. Good, I'm glad I didn't misread anything <_<
2010-11-04 [Annie]: No no, we couldn't start writing on the 31st as far as I know. That was just when the wiki opened. :) Excited to see your characters too Veltzeh!
Wow you both are doing great so far! I'm a bit behind..but hopefully I can just keep up, I have no hopes of finishing ahead like you awesome people. :P
2010-11-04 [Ash]: Hehe.... Tyr's got a black preacher inside him.
2010-11-04 [Annie]: .>
2010-11-04 [Annie]: Day four: Major setback - I decided to change my novel altogether because I didn't like the genre I had chosen. I convinced myself before NaNo started that nonfiction would be okay because I've done quite a bit of creative nonfiction and have been wanting to write a whole book in that vein for awhile. But then I went to set my genre on nanowrimo.org and noticed that nonfiction wasn't present...and finally gave in to the fictional world. My new novel is romantic fantasy I suppose and currently about 3000 words shorter than I left off on the last one. >.< Must catch up!
2010-11-05 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Oh my! Well, I'm sure you can do it Annie! Go Annie! Go Annie! It's your novel! We gonna party when it's completed! We gonna sip Sunny-D when it's completed!
And... <.< that's the alcohol-free nerd in me speaking.
Just remember: 2,000 words/day keeps the deadline away (and gives you 5 days free if you really need them).
2010-11-05 [Tyr Zalo Hawk]: Also, Tyr started doing updates on date and time, just to make sure you guys don't call me out on my discrepancies too badly
Because I know you guys religiously hack into my computer just to check my word count. <_<...
2010-11-05 [Ash]: Day Five: I took a break yesterday, but my hand feels worse than ever. I am hoping that start a trend of three days work, one day rest and continue to write 3,333 words everytime so that on day 20 I will be finisshed. However, I can see school slowly sinking into my writing time. This is why i am worried. I am hoping very much that I can get ahead on my work along with doing the 3,333 and keep a good pace that doesn't exhaust me mentally. Well, here I go and hopefully with two new and challenging classes, I won't be hacked to pieces.
2010-11-06 [Annie]: Day five: Things are looking slightly better. Got a few more words written today, about 3000 actually (because I went back down to 800 this morning and back up again). I feel like it was fairly decent progress even though it wasn't nearly enough. But perhaps if I follow Tyr's advice and keep writing a little more than I need to everyday, 2000 or so, I can catch up.
